San Francisco Lovefest date announced

The date for the United States’ answer to Berlin’s Love Parade — the annual San Francisco LoveFest — has been announced.

LoveFest takes places this year on Saturday, October 4th, 2008, accompanied by a parade and several coordinating events throughout the city.

Each year for the event, San Francisco as it is normally known comes to a standstill as clubbers and music lovers converge upon the city for a little bit of dancin’ in the streets, west coast style. 

The festival, run on a non-profit, volunteer basis, is free and open to the public (with quite a reasonable donation suggested to help cover costs).

Which means that you never know what type of fun-loving revelers will take part in the festivities.

But it’s guaranteed to make for a good time.
