SAMC - on the hunt for new music

Whilst Beatportal’s Christen Reutens will be going to the South American Music Conference to analyse the health of the Latin American electronic music scene, I’ll be having a lot more fun listening to new music next week in Argentina.

Specifically, Beatportal wants to find hot new producers and labels from the continent that are doing something unique.

There is loads of excellent music coming out of South America on local labels such as Esperanza, Igloo-Rec, Off Side Recordings and Dual Musik.

Whilst the Internet has given minuscule labels the opportunity to have their tracks heard across the world, we do still think there’s a disproportionate amount of music being highlighted from Europe and America.

So our SAMC live blog will attempt to readdress this imbalance and hopefully we’ll find some glorious new music in the process.

Beatportal’s live South American Music Conference blog starts next Thursday 6th March and runs till Monday 10th March.
