The Beatportal team is sitting at the airport in Houston ready to board our flight to Buenos Aires, for the South American Music Conference.

We’ll be there for five days blogging live from SAMC, and hopefully we’ll discover some exciting new Latin-influenced electronic music, and come back from South America with a firm grasp of the industry, its club scene and the people who make it happen.

We’re all pretty excited.

South America’s electronic music scene really is a world apart from America and Europe’s, metaphorically and physically.

The flight will take over 10 hours which is unbelievable considering that it’s basically just straight down south.

Luckily for us we downloaded loads of music before we left from some South American labels so we could familiarise ourselves with the labels.
