SAMC club review: Aktivism vs. Dual Musik @ Club Cocoliche
6 March, 2008 | 6.21PM- Section: Music News Topics: South American Music Conference
As flight issues delay the Beatportal Team from a prompt arrival to the South American Music Conference (SAMC), our spy got the inside peek of the opening night fiesta.
And from the sound of things, he was very happy with the results.
Day 3 of the SAMC rolled in with a bit of rain, but that didn’t dampen the spirits of the 150 or so people that rolled into Cocoliche on Wednesday night.
Especially when they arrived for the showcase between Aktivism Records from Spain and Dual Musik from Buenos Aires to see a surprise opening DJ — the one and only DJ T. [right image] from the Get Physical camp.
T. was in true form, laying down the tunes for an hour or so before hanging out with the crowd and dancing ‘til the wee hours of the morning.
The set from Juan Pablo Lopez [main image] from Aktivism was rocking, and the night was closed out with a live set from local star Dokser of Dual Musik.
The Argentinan crowds are very much into the techno and tech house grooves.
Thursday’s event is the first in a series of parties at Club Bahrain in downtown Buenos Aires with Kasper & Popol, Jorge Savoretti and Franco Cinelli.
