BEATPORTAL RUMBLEFISH INTERVIEW:

Who are you? Barry Ashworth, Will Hensel & Martin MY. Barry & Will first put out an EP on Ugly Records a decade ago. Since then Barry has obviously been busy being a Dub Pistol and Westway Records main man, leading the charge at clubs and festivals all around the world, while Will has been beavering away in west London studios under a variety of guises as well as working on the last Dub Pistols album & thier forthcoming long player.
Martin, who has just joined ‘Rumblefish’ used to run 2 of Camden’s most respected record shops as well as producing as one half of Move Ya & Steve Lavers, they had a slew of releases on Audio Bug. More recently you will find him producing as one half of Dirty Tricks as well as djing. 2012 will see the launch of a new label from Martin dedicated to bass with material from up & coming producers, as well as from himself.

Highlight of 2011? Joining forces for this project, it really has only just begun to be honest so we are young musically. The feedback from our new release has got us stoked, plays from Dj EZ, Fedde Le Grande & Laurent Garnier to Freq Nasty & The Crystal Method, nice and diverse which is music to our ears!

What can we look forward to in 2012?
We have some more material we are in the process of completing, we are working along side some very talented vocalists. We have also just been asked to remix a couple of tracks which we are just getting started on. The new year will bring some new releases on various labels, along with remixes which will encompass all styles of electronic dance music. Rumblefish had a release on Westway last Feb, called ‘Rumblefish’ produced by Will & Barry. The ‘Eyes In The Sky’ release on Functional has just come out, with mixes from Medicine 8, Polaroids, Jerry C4 and Snareophobe.
