Round Table Knights cut to the chase
Round Table Knights cut to the chase
21 July, 2010 | 4.46AMSwitzerland’s rising Round Table Knights
have found a fitting home with Jesse Rose
and his Made To Play
camp of house music merry-makers. Their latest single, ‘Cut To The Top’, is a bluesy, Balkan-inspired house bouncer reminiscent of the best dOP moments, but with a unique style of its own. With the additional vocals from the Swiss garage-rock legend Reverend Beat-man, this single is set to skyrocket the duo to new heights, making Round Table Knigts a household name —in underground neighborhoods, anyway!
In the accompanying video, inspired by a painting called ‘Bildnis der Journalistin Sylvia Von Harden’ by Otto Dix (of Germany’s Neue Sachlichkeit, or New Objectivity, movement) the fusion of music and image is perfectly (and surprisingly) executed. It’s a clever twist on the retro/circus vibe of spots like Berlin’s Bar25, and a handy art history lesson.
