Robyn picks a winner, drops new single
10 August, 2010 | 3.25AMWe have a winner! The entries have been spun, the votes tallied, and Robyn and Konichiwa Records have made their final decision as to the winning remix for her ‘None Of Dem’ remix contest.
Robyn’s ‘None of Dem’, one of the most exciting tracks on her recent ‘Body Talk Pt. 1’, took a long and winding road from its initial idea to its final realization.
“The track which became ‘None Of Dem’ started as a beat which I already had, and loved, so it was obvious it would develop into something more,” Robyn told Beatportal. “It is a really important track on ‘Body Talk Pt 1.’ Lots of people are really into it, we thought it would be interesting to see how others would reinterpret it by giving them the opportunity to remix the track!”
Indeed it was: entries ranged from tech house to trance to dubstep to springy UK funky. Who took the top slot? Read on to find out. And don’t miss Robyn’s brand-new single ‘Hang With Me’, featuring remixes from Kaiserdisco
and Avicii
!
The winning remix comes from Australia’s Paul Agazzi, who set Robyn’s vocals loose like a fistful of balloons, reworking the underlying track as a tense, techy, progressive-house groover.

His remix will be released on Robyn’s Konichiwa label; as further reward, he also takes home Native Instrument’s Maschine and a $200 Beatport gift card.
Israel’s Roey Kedmi is our top runner-up. His deep, brooding ‘Dorset Naga Remix’ was both a top spun entry and one of Beatport’s own editorial picks, and he receives a $50 Beatport gift card in recognition.
