Robert Hood on Omega: Alive
Robert Hood on Omega: Alive
21 June, 2011 | 4.21AM“I’ve always wanted to release a live album. I love live albums,” says Detroit’s Robert Hood
in conversation with EPM Music. His new Omega: Alive isn’t strictly a live recording—rather than an actual night out, it documents the rehearsals for his current live show, which reworks last year’s Omega material, a techno homage to the 1971 Charlton Heston film Omega Man, along with updated classics from his back catalog.
Check out the above video to hear Hood speak about his label M-Plant and the origins of his obsession with minimalism; keep reading for part two, in which he goes into further detail about the new album.
