Originally released in 1994, River Ocean’s ‘Love and Happiness’ has been brought bang up to date with a drum-led Masters At Work dub that is sure to become a major club hit in the next few weeks.

The monotonous tribal rhythm, clever use of vocal and simple FX is exactly the kind of sound I’m into at the moment.

Similar in style to Marlon D’s ‘Jesus Creates Sound’, record label Strictly Rhythm it seems is currently leading this niche which fuses old house sensibilities with minimal drum loops.

MAW could have used a bit less of the vocal in my opinion, but overall this is a track that has all the hallmarks of a future beat anthem.
