Rise Up
Rise Up
DJ Disciple [Catch 22]
10 August, 2007 | 8.59AMNYC DJ and producer DJ Disciple is an artist who constantly evolves his sound and that creativity has kept him at the forefront of the dance scene with a gig diary that stretches across the globe.
Returning on his label Catch 22 with a chuggy dancefloor slice of house, Disciple has updated his sound once again to keep in sync with the trend for stripped-back sounds.
As with all his productions lately, Disciple himself is behind the spoken vocals with chanting lyrics commanding you to ‘Rise up…take a stand’.
The lyrics are simple and effective and the production tape delays create a trippy vibe that works nicely.
The groove leans towards a minimal vibe incorporating plenty of blips alongside a heavy low-slung bassline before warm chord stabs kick in with enough punch to drive the track along.
This is a solid deep house track that will work any floor.
Beatportal recommends ‘Rise Up’ for DJs who like their dancefloors smoky and jackin’.
