Ricardo Villalobos’s 19 min Shackleton remix

Ricardo Villalobos’s 19 min Shackleton remix

Finally after months of being on promo, Ricardo Villalobos’ self-indulgent 19 minute remix of Shackleton [a] ‘Blood On My Hands’ has been released. The track is a minimal techno fan’s wet dream, having been built around a monotonous minimal house groove.

DJs often talk of a good toilet record - a track that’s long enough for a DJ to leave the booth and go for a piss - but with the Ricardo Villalobos [a] Apocalypso Now Mix you could have a shit, do two bumps of K and get a hand job from the toilet attendant before the needle reaches the end.

Yet in typical Villalobos style, hidden behind the monotony is an ever-evolving soundscape that only the most committed of electronic music fans will appreciate (Beatport’s two minute preview below doesn’t do the track justice).

If you’re into avant-garde electronic dancefloor music you’ll love this, if you’re not, best stay away.
