Return of the Vath

Return of the Vath

Jumping about the booth like a madman, wrapping his t-shirt around his head, occasional ad-libbing into the mic… You never know quite what to expect when Sven’s in town.

It’s always a bit of a special occasion when Sven Vath [a] rocks up to The End, with a massive box of blistering techno and a posse of attractive blondes to accompany him, you know this is going to be one of those nights when going home early just isn’t an option. Can you imagine Sven Vath ever announcing his retirement from DJing à la Danny Rampling? Unlikely – and lets hope not, as every time he’s played The End he’s torn the roof off. Sven has the power to impart the thirst for hedonism in even the most determined teetotaller. Pre-Christmas detox? Enough already – Sven’s in town so no excuses. Expect nothing less than melodic techno, fierce basslines, heads down, hands in the air music that makes you breathless, and helps you remember what it actually means to lose yourself on the dancefloor. Last time he graced The End’s decks back in April he played way past 7am, and was later seen propping up the bar at Jaded – the word legend doesn’t even come close.

Joining Sven in the main room is another committed hedonist – our very own Mr C. Back in June for his ’20 Years of DJing’ party Mr C played a set reflecting where he came from musically – even giving a cheeky reminder of his Shamen days by rapping over’ Ebeneezer Goode’ in The End’s main room. This time expect a selection of his more current musical tastes, from pulsing electro-tech to deep, driving stripped-down techno.

Warm have made several visits to The End over the last few months, each time bringing their deliciously deep, melodic, uplifting house to AKA. A veritable Bachelor’s hug of a soundtrack…actually forget that – more like a steaming bowl of Nigella Lawson’s homemade organic tomato soup with extra cream. Ali Tillett, Rob Summerhayes and guests are on deck duty, making you feel all Warm and cosy inside. Ahhhh…
