Rave Attack - The Classics
Rave Attack - The Classics
Various Artists [Club Tools]
18 September, 2007 | 10.29AMDon’t be put off by the ‘rave’ tag in the title of this compilation album, as within lay some real gems from the early years of harder edged dance - including several timeless classics that set the blueprint for the trance, hard dance and hardcore scenes as we know them today.
Notable trance highlights include the awesome ‘Schoneberg’ by Marmion
that was a pivotal track in the evolution of this genre and served up here in a cooler, tech edged rework courtesy of Thomas Schumacher
.
There’s also the spine tingling original mix of the Members of Mayday track ‘Sonic Empire’, plus a rare original of Humate’s ‘Love Stimulation’ that was famously championed and remixed by Paul van Dyk
.
On the tougher tip, there’s a selection of Nu NRG anthems of the nineties, such as Jens
‘Loops & Tings’, the big room sounds of Drax
‘Amphetamine’ and Emmanuel Top
‘Acid Phase’ amongst others.
The acid theme continues with the massive Josh Wink
cut ‘Higher State of Consciousness’.
I could go on, but with a massive 24 tracks on this compilation (that are also available as individual downloads), there’s no excuse for not dipping your toe into the fast flowing waters of ‘Rave Attack - The Classics’.
