The classic label behind some of Europe’s best techno records is back.

Revived by new UK management and working from its new stable in London, R & S’s return to releasing techno has been welcomed across the board in clubland.

Along with reissuing some of the label’s old classics with new remixes R & S has been busy signing new material and with their next release they go in big.

Matt Radio Slave is one of techno and underground house music’s most in demand producers delivering cut after cut of meticulously crafted dancefloor excellence

Lead track ‘Eyes Wide Open’ is on the money with the current vibe in the underground for deep, big room house.

A rolling funk bassline, reverb-soaked vocal snippets and big stabs and strings lend it all the hallmarks of a record that could have been made in 1993 for a classic house label Strictly Rhythm.

‘Incognito’s beats and bassline take more of a lead from techno but the organ stabs and vocal samples also lend it a classic house feel.

Like all Radio Slave releases, both sides push the ten minute mark, stringing out the tension by weaving between simple but powerfully effective breakdowns.

It’s a telling sign that this sleeping legend is not just back to regurgitate past classics but is intent on creating some new ones too.
