We caught up with Paco Maroto to ask him 10 questions about his new EP on Younan Music which has attracted the attention of big players like Rainer Weichhold, David Herrero and many more!

10 Questions for Paco Maroto -

1 - This is the first question, but unlike a gameshow you progress even if you get
it wrong. How did it all start for Paco Maroto?
ESP- Mi carrera como deejay comenzó a nivel profesional en el año 1.992. Y mi
pasion por la producción musical hace unos 6 años.
ENG-My career as a deejay at a professional level began in the year 1992. And my
passion for music production for about 6 years.

2 - What was your inspiration behind the EP for Younan Music?
ESP- La inspiracion viene de un loop de voces étnicas de libreria que me
encantaron desde el primer dia que las escuché. A raíz de ahí viene la
construcción del track.
ENG- The inspiration comes from a loop of ethnic voices of library that I loved
from the first day I heard them. Following this comes the construction of the
track

3 - Favorite piece of studio equipment? (live african bongoists, alcohol or
general fixtures and fittings are not allowed!)
ESP- Los programas principales de mi estudio de sonido son Logic9 y Ableton Live,
trabajando ambos conjuntamente. Tambien me apoyo mucho en material sonoro de
libreria.
ENG- My main programs are Logic9 & Ableton Live, working both together. I also
relied heavily on sound material library.

4 - How do you go about starting a track from scratch, do you normally have an
idea in your head before you start?
ESP- A veces partes de una idea principal, pero normalmente me pongo a trabajar de
cero y me viene la inspiracion de cualquier loop, sonido o vocal y a partir de ahi
se desarrolla el resto.
ENG- Sometimes parts of a main idea, but usually I get to work from scratch and
the inspiration comes from any loop, or vocal sound, and from there develops the
rest.

5- What other DJ’s/Producer are you listening to at the moment? What Producers
inspire your own productions?
ESP- En ninguno en concreto. Me inspiro principalmente en la tendencia musical
actual.
ENG- None in particular. I am inspired mainly on the current musical trend.

6 - What other kinds of music inspires you outside the dance and electronic world?
ESP- Me encanta escuchar bandas de “Tecno Pop” de los años 80. como “Yazoo,
Depeche Mode, Information Society, Erasure, Soft Cell”
ENG- I love listening to bands “Techno Pop” of the 80. as “Yazoo, Depeche Mode,
Information Society, Erasure, Soft Cell”

7 - What is your live set up?
ESP- Cualquier Sabado noche en Amnesia Ibiza es increible.
ENG- Any Saturday night at Amnesia Ibiza is amazing.

8 - What are you currently working on?
ESP- Estoy trabajando en un nuevo compilado de mi sello “Musak Records” con
colaboraciones de otros artistas y que saldra a la venta para los cierres de
Ibiza.
ENG- I’m working on a new compilation of my label “Musak Records” collaborations
with other artists and will go on sale for the closing of Ibiza.

9 - Whats next for Paco Maroto production and gig wise?
ESP- Estoy terminando un trabajo para el sello “Hotfingers” se incluye en un
compilado de Luigi Roca.
Actualmente me puedes encontrar actuando todos los sabados del verano en Amnesia
Ibiza.
ENG- I’m finishing work for the label “Hotfingers” is included in a compilation of
Luigi Roca.
Currently you can find me acting all summer Saturdays at Amnesia Ibiza.

10 - Whats your interests outside the electronic music world?
ESP- Mi principal interes es la salud y bienestar de mi familia.
ENG- My main interest is the health and welfare of my family.
