Peshay [Metalheadz]
22 April, 2008 | 11.35AM- Section: Music Reviews
Going back to 1994, we have Peshay’s beautiful ‘Psychosis’, which is an audio time capsule of sorts that epitomises everything progressive and technical about jungle music.
It’s pretty damned cool that Metalheadz are releasing much of their back catalogue on Beatport, isn’t it?
Once upon a time, when you had to collect vinyl, these tracks were near impossible to find after the year 2000.
But here they are in all their digitised glory – never scratching or becoming warped.
This is a seminal example of jungle music.
‘Psychosis’ surely contains the blueprint to the “liquid” sub-genre within drum & bass that we all know and love today.
