boards his space ship and takes a journey into the realms of cosmic disco with the latest release on Versatile Records
out of France, ‘Prophetization EP’.
The lead track, ‘Pazuzu’, has been taking on plaudits from Chateau Flight who rated it highly enough to find a place for it on their recent ‘Body Language’ compilation.
It starts off with heavily reverberated chords before a funky b-line gets the hips moving.
The track has a very Gallic cool tinge to it, thanks to some neatly placed keys.
‘Pazuzu’ really comes into its own after three minutes, a wave of space age pads and hovering bass seem to drift off into a euphoric landscape before dropping down into a bleepy heads down workout.
‘Prophetization’ has a very heavy 1980s influence in a retro-futuristic way.
Punchy snares and a tight drum pattern lean more towards electro than house, but I:Cube has done a sterling job of injecting the skeletal robotics with a very warm quality.
Layered dreamy pads and glitchy twitches combine to give the track a very strong identity and provide the atmospherics for building a set.
I:Cube certainly delivers and this will appeal to all fans of Metro Area and Environ.
