Producer Danny J Lewis, Enzyme Black, Defected will be revealing the secrets behind the minimal sound via a new online music production course. The course runs for four weeks commencing January 12th 2009.

The course is offered by music school Point Blank. Point Blank is an official training centre for Apple and Native Instruments and has been voted “Best Music Production School” for six consecutive years by readers of DJ magazine.

Course materials include detailed notes, tutorial videos, samples, song files and other resources. Best of all, students benefit from personal feedback on their music each week from a professional producer. Danny will be hosting a weekly webchat where students can ask questions and discuss production techniques. Students also have the opportunity to upload their tracks each week and get personal feedback, tips and advice.

The Minimal Techno course is the first in a new range of online courses exploring specific genres of music. Danny will demonstrate how producers like Richie Hawtin create the distinctive minimal sound; from unique drum and percussion sounds to leads, pads, textures and effects. Everything is created within Apple’s Logic 8– no additional plug-ins are required.
