Preparing for the Sasha & Digweed Tour

Preparing for the Sasha & Digweed Tour

We’ve all heard what happens when rock stars go on tour. So in preparation for being embedded on a tour bus for three weeks with Sasha [a] and John Digweed [a] whilst they tour across North America, I’ve gathered a few things.

Multivitamins, pills for headaches and sore throats, and Emergen-C (which is a great hangover cure).

I don’t know what to expect from living with two of the world’s biggest DJs as they embark on a huge tour of North America, but these body balancers might come in handy.

After all, sex, drugs and rock n roll is a mantra that can also be applied to today’s touring dance music superstars.

Sasha & Digweed might not sport rocker haircuts (although Digweed has come close), have tattoos over their arms, or smash guitars up on stage, but the British DJs are as close as it gets to being rock gods in electronic music.

Even if we only drink green tea and water and are in bed by 9pm each night, just traveling across America for three weeks on a bus will be grueling enough.

My flight for Boston leaves in a couple of hours, and Sasha & Digweed are set to play at the city’s The Estate club tomorrow (Wednesday night).

As my taxi zooms down the freeway on the way to the airport I can’t help but feel a little nervous.

I’ve met both Sasha and John Digweed before, but a 20 minute interview is not the same as three weeks of living, eating and breathing together.

This is a journey, figuratively and symbolically; one that should reveal what it is truly like to be a superstar DJ in the 21st century, as a globetrotter entertaining the dancing world.

I just hope the vitamins don’t run out.
