This night is promising to be an excursion into the multi-dimensional and cross-cultural showcases of exciting talent in electronic music from around the world.

Popkomm Berlin line-up

MONOLAKE
Since his first release on the legendary Chain Reaction label, Berlin’s Robert Henke, aka Monolake has developed and refined his own take on dub techno through his release history, spanning seven albums over a ten year period. On record, as well as live, Monolake proves that he’s among the best when it comes to combining sound research and kicking club sounds.

MINILOGUE
Marcus Henriksson and Sebastian Mullaert, aka Minilogue are among the most diverse Swedish techno producers around. They release euphoric club tracks as well as improvised dub listening pieces, such as can be heard on their recent album “Animals” on Cocoon Recordings.

DANTON EEPROM
Danton Eeprom has so far released on labels such as Infinée, Tsuba, Freak n’ Chic and Hot Banana and belongs to a new generation of French techno producers. Eeprom, who likes to wear a top hat during performances is convincing enough with his fresh mix of catchy yet obscure melodies and kicking drives.

DEETRON
Under his Deetron moniker Sam Geiser produces euphoric and soulful Detroit House and Techno hits such as the recent “I Cling” or “Life Soundtrack” on Music Man. As a DJ Deetron likes to play on three turntables and we are curious to see what the tech-savvy producer will come up with for his live set.

LEGOWELT
Den Haag resident Danny Wolfers, aka Legowelt, has devoted himself to early Chicago house and Italo Disco and on his records for Bunker, Créme and Strange Life he produces deranged, eccentric and fascinating versions on these early dance blueprints. The analogue fetishist is without a doubt, always an impressive live act.

LA SYNTHESIS
LA Synthesis have released several classics on some of the best UK techno labels in the early ‘90s; Evolution/Universal Language, Plink Plonk and A13. ‘Agrophobia’, their debut release from 1994 will forever remain one of the most seminal pieces in electronic music. These mid ‘90s pioneers from South London had not played a live show in 10 years until appearing at the BLOC Festival in the UK earlier this year.

MAETRIK
Texan techno producer, Erik Estornell, aka Maetrik stands for both educated listening experiences and energetic performances. His 2005 album ‘Casi Profundo’ on Treibstoff still sets the standards for a well-balanced, diverse longplay that conceptually works for both dancefloors and home listening.

LORY D
This Italian acid legend was the man behind the first underground, experimental, techno label from Italy Sounds Never Seen. Lory D is admired by the likes of Aphex Twin through to those at Skam. His live performance in Berlin will present some instantly recognisable classics that fans of Drexciya and Underground Resistance will appreciate.

DJ SODEYAMA
DJ Sodeyama is one of the most promising new techno and house artists from Tokyo. Sodeyama´s second album ‘Dual’ bridges the gap between Tech House and Minimal, and is interspersed with references from melodic techno and electronica. This showcase will be his first live performance in Europe.

UNDO & VICKNOISE
Whilst Spain has always been known for its association with the harder end of the techno spectrum, Undo & Vicknoise offer a fresh point of departure away from this style. Their label Factor City stands for melodic techno, similar to the style of James Holden’s Border Community. Expect a techno live show that will blow your mind!
