Planet Mu gets dreamy with Vezelay
28 June, 2011 | 4.13AMHaving recently brought us Anti-G’s thrillingly deconstructed dubstep, Machinedrum’s next-level psychedelic beat music, Venetian Snares’ bizarrely funky “Cubist Reggae,” and more footwork variants than you can shake a stick at, Mike Paradinas’ mighty Planet Mu
label throws us yet another curveball.
Vezelay’s aptly named ”Lyre” EP is an unusually lyrical offering for the label, suffused with dreamy vox and keyboards lacing soporific beats. The gorgeous “Sedative” is perhaps the most traditional sounding thing here; the rest of the record ranges from scuffed ambiance to gloomy beat concoctions that will appeal to fans of the Tri Angle label. Check out a second video after the jump.
