Pinch celebrates FabricLive 61

Bristol’s Pinch, head of the acclaimed Tectonic label, is next in line to mix up an edition of Fabric’s FabricLive series. Coming hot on the heels of the heavyweight Cracks In The Pleasuredome, an album-length collaboration with Shackleton for the Honest Jons label, FabricLive 61 is an unmistakably Pinchian representation of Bristol dubstep at its finest. The tracklisting leans heavily on cuts from Tectonic’s stable, but it also takes in like-minded cuts from EQD, Boddika & Joy Orbison, and H.E.N.C.H.’s Jakes.

A traditionalist to the core, Pinch reports that he mixed the whole thing on vinyl—and, indeed, the mix is full of vinyl-only rarities and unreleased VIPs. In an unusual twist, the session begins and ends with the same track, allowing listeners to let it play out in one unbroken loop, as long as they’d like.

If you’re in London this Friday, January 13, you can catch Pinch, Loefah, 2562, Peverelist and more celebrating the album’s release in Room Two; Pearson Sound, Kode 9, Ben UFO, Pangaea, Jam City and pals take over Room One for a Hessle Audio throwdown, while Lone and Illum Sphere hold down Room Three’s Hoya Hoya showcase.
