Picturesque with Ananda Project
2 April, 2008 | 1.32PMThe Atlanta-based Ananda Project
are known for their eclectic and sensuous sounds that meld euphoric soulful house with contemplative r & b, spiritually minded cosmic jazz-fusions, organic Balearic grooves, electronic textures and percussive Afro-Latin rhythms.
Since their inception in 1998, Chris Brann has cultivated a dynamic tour de force that came to the fore on a few years back on their acclaimed ‘Relight’ opus.
Their latest release pairs the Pasta Boys
mixing seductive shuffling of ‘Where The Music Takes You’ (underpinned with an insinuating organ riff) with the percussive and wonderfully easy-of-the-ear Rurals
mix of ‘Stay As You Are’.
There’s also a chunkier Tomo Dub of the latter.
All in all, a picturesque soundscape.
