Edmonton, 10/30/08
“A long night in Vegas followed by another early start and it’s a drag I can’t hang around for the new Cirque show and party.
It’s the first time on this tour where I had to make a connection (in Vancouver....bumped into Paul Van Dyk) and sure enough I lose my clothes bag. Damn.
For some strange reason Edmonton has always been Tong crazy and I missed them on the last tour in March so it was good to be back.

Hands in the air
Just went you least expect it we get collected by the most monstrous limo I’ve ever seen—you could fit a full team of cheerleaders in there and still have room to dance!
Kris, Justin and the crew have a great vibe going up in Edmonton (also do shows in Calgary) and they are one of the most forward thinking promo teams in North America.
They were very early on Ed Banger
, Mstrkrft, Soulwax
, Deadmau5
and Steve Aoki. Last week they had a show with Felix Da Housecat
.
The Ultra Lounge is a small, intimate venue holding around 400 people. It’s jam packed and turns out to be one of the best gigs of the tour so far.
The front row was getting a little over excited so the computer was under threat but managed to survive the excitement.
After two encores we managed to convince everybody it was over :)

Hi from Edmonton
The Tong Factor demos kept coming in and we are working through them as I write, two more shows to go..... can it really have gone that fast!?
I’m off to Beatport’s spiritual home to play Beta in Denver.
Oakey [Paul Oakenfold] just called to invite me to the Playboy Mansion for his Halloween gig tonight (doh!).
These invites always come when I’m already booked!
Large tunes in Edmonton
‘Sonora’ (Patrice Baumel Mix) Marc Romboy
Rapidly becoming my favourite producer this month, Patrice Baumel creates another atmospheric gem.
Restless (Tim Weeks Remix) ‘Patric La Funk’
‘2 Months Off’ (Tong & Rogers Dub) ‘Underworld’
The darker version of our remix is killing it on this tour, talking to the band to see if we can get it released soon!
