Pete Tong’s Bedroom Bedlamers get their own label

Pete Tong’s Fast Trax online TV show is one of the best dance music shows about, and Beatportal features every episode.

On Tong’s show every week there’s a part dedicated to unknown producers called Bedroom Bedlam, in which Pete features tracks that have been sent to him by up and coming producers.

Usually the tracks are top notch, but apart from an airing on Tong’s show, they rarely see the light of day.

But now, being the ambassador of dance that he is, Pete Tong has helped create a new record label for the Bedroom Bedlamers which will be used as an outlet for the amateur releases.

Bravo Tong, is all we can say.

He’s putting his money where his mouth is, and actually supporting the producers financially in a bid to get them more exposure.

“I have been so consistently impressed with the quality of the tracks that have been sent in to Fast Trax that I have decided to go one step further and give producers a helping hand in getting them released and hopefully it’ll earn them a little bit of cash in the process,” said Tong.

“Every month we will be putting tracks out as digital downloads in association with Beatport and on a monthly Bedroom Bedlam EP.”

This is a great development for aspiring producers, because it has made the A&R process transparent and democratic.

A minimum of four tracks will be released every two weeks on Bedroom Bedlam, and there’s four tracks available to download right now [check them in the player below].

If you’re a producer and have a track you’d like to be considered for Tong’s Bedroom Bedlam Records, submit it to Pete’s Myspace page.

The record label is exclusively available on Beatport.

PS This is why the Internet rules.
