Pete Tong TV 5th December 2008

Pete Tong TV 5th December 2008

On this first episode of newly revamped ‘Pete Tong TV’ (formerly known as Fast Trax), Pete starts off with the video for ‘Find Your Way’ from Luke Walker [a].

Pete also shares the latest remix by The Sultan & Ned Shepard [a] called ‘Pressure’ from a reunited Dirty Vegas [a], which will be available as a physical only release from Toolroom Records, due out in early 2009.

There are three Bedroom Bedlam cuts from Distek, Filthy Schwartz, and this week’s No.1 track by Dezza. Bedroom Bedlam features 3 unsigned tracks selected by Pete each week from submissions sent to BedroomBedlam@PeteTong.tv. You can listen to the No. 1 Bedroom Bedlam track for free for one week’s time on the Pete Tong TV website, and also vote for next week’s top Bedroom Bedlam track, as well as learn how to get the show on your mobile phone. To check out other Bedroom Bedlamers, check out the Bedroom Bedlam label, also currently available exclusively on Beatport. If you vote this week you can enter to win a copy of the newest release from Damian Schwartz [a], titled ‘Party Lovers’.

The Remix for this week is Alan Braxe’s remix of ‘Life Is Still Beautiful’ from The Orange Lights to be released on 12th January 2009.

Pete also highlights the video for the video for ‘Oh!’ from We Have Band [a].

For the weekly confessional, Pete talks with Fine Art Recordings’ label head Nitzan Hermon, who discusses his entry into the world of electronic music, his start as a DJ, and his creative and pruning processes for building his imprint. He touches on the age old debate of digital versus vinyl, and talks about how when he first started out he worked hard to develop a solid community through the web.  He now has a blog for his imprint as well, which you can find at fineartpromo.co.uk. Additionally, he claimed another site called safevinyl.co.uk, where he originally posted about different record shops he’d found around London and in the UK, and has since transformed into an open community platform. This week, in the ‘exclusive’ section of Pete’s site you can stream a live mix from Fine Art Recordings.

During the interview, we heard Jens Loden [a] ‘First One’ and Fabric Lig ‘Cosmic Beauty’.

And finally, head over to the Pete Tong TV website to find out how to join Blinko, the new social network service available both online and on your mobile phone. Pete’s also got a channel there, where you can get music and club announcements, updates, info, giveaways and more.
