Pete Tong Fast Trax 21st November 2008

On Fast Trax this week, Pete features the video for their new single, ‘Facemelter’ from The Japanese Popstars.

The Upfront Tune for this week is ‘Access The Future’ from Andy Chatterley, due out on 5th December.

There are three Bedroom Bedlam cuts from Itchy Feet, Joe Brunning, and this week’s No.1 track by Apartment 88. Bedroom Bedlam features 3 unsigned tracks selected by Pete each week from submissions sent to his MySpace page. You can listen to the No. 1 Bedroom Bedlam track for free for one week’s time on the Fast Trax website, and also vote for next week’s top Bedroom Bedlam track. To check out other Bedroom Bedlamers, check out the Bedroom Bedlam label, also currently available exclusively on Beatport. Alos, this week you can vote for your favorite Bedroom Bedlam track and win Stereo MCs gear.

The Remix for this week is Calvin Harris’ remix of ‘Can You See The Light’ from The Hours.

The Filthy Dukes‘ remix of ‘Let It Rock’ from Kevin Rudolf featuring Lil Wayne was also featured on this week’s show.

This week Pete talks to veteran player ATFC [a], who’s back in bed with Defected Records and is busy with plenty of projects, including remixes for Funkerman [a] and Dubfire [a].  He talks about how he got started at the tender age of 13 when his mom and dad bought him his first pair of decks, and discusses the journey he’s taken to grow into the DJ he is now.  He’s recently moved to Spain and his latest productions reflect a more laidback style that stems from his relaxed lifestyle there. He’s also currently juggling producing in two styles—tougher and more electronic stuff for Toolroom Records, and funkier, housier styles for Defected. His forthcoming release, ‘Defected in the House: Goa’ focuses on the emerging house style coming out of India lately, in what was considered to be a traditionally trance-centered area.  He talks about how his rework of Dubfire’s ‘Roadkill’ has sparked the emergence of a new style of electronic and live elements for him, and wraps up his confessional with latest tours and projects that will culminate in Goa at the Sunburn Festival.

Also, and exclusive to the mobile phone version of the show is Johnny Arthur’s remix of ‘Community Vision’ from Alison Marks.
