German trance superstar Paul van Dyk is due to release his new album ‘In Between’ in August on Mute Records.

In what many will see as a dumbed down, more commercially-orientated release akin to Paul Oakenfold’s dire 2006 ‘A Lively Mind’ album, ‘In Between’ features a heap of collaborations with pop and rock stars.

Jessica Sutta from the Pussycat Dolls, David Byrne of Talking Heads fame, Ashley Tomberlin and Wayne Jackson all feature on the LP.

Promo copies still haven’t been sent out yet, so at the moment it’s still unclear whether Paul van Dyk has left his trance roots behind on ‘In Between’.

But PvD admitted, “This album is very different from what I’ve done in the past.”

The first single ‘White Lies’ which features said Pussycat Doll will be released July 31st.
