Paul Oakenfold - shameless sell-out?
8 November, 2007 | 11.39AMIn an interview on Ministryofsound.com Britain’s original superstar DJ Paul Oakenfold
shamelessly admits that he’s a sell out.
“I started off in DJing, but when you get the opportunity to write music for a $90 million dollar movie, you’re not going to pass it up!” said Paul Oakenfold.
“That’s what I love doing – as a kid my dad used to take me to the cinema and I’ve always been a big fan of films and knew that further down the line I would get involved in them – it’s a natural progression for me.”
Well, if that’s the case Paul, then why do you still insist on raping the electronic music industry for thousands of pounds for a set, if you don’t really give a toss?
We don’t know what’s worse: Paul Oakenfold for milking his fledging DJ career for every penny, or the blind clubbers who are willing to spend money on tickets to see a boring, pass-it train-wrecking trance DJ.
Hang on a sec - maybe the tide is turning - only 52 people bought tickets to Paul Oakenfold’s upcoming Newcastle University gig leaving the DJ red-faced.
