Free Blood [DFA]

If Free Blood [a] sounds kind of familiar then you have to look no further than !!!, John Pugh’s old indie, disco outfit, which he left to peruse this new project.

They have a sound set up that seems synonymous of most DFA outfits - heavy bass drums, bass guitar, hand claps, keys and a whole other multitude of deep percussion.

Free Blood have produced a far more experimental record than their other DFA contemporaries.

It’s a moody, almost bluesy affair.

John’s aim with Free Blood supposedly was to merge two disparate New York party styles - the swanky Manhattan vibe with the Brooklyn squat party ethos.

What he’s ended up with though is a fun, all out, no wave Pangatang party tune, that’s accessible whether you’re in Brooklyn, Manhattan or Timbuktu.
