Paolo Mojo on invisibility & crack.

takes a few minutes out of his busy schedule to have a chin wag with us.
Paolo Mojo; DJ of nearly 20 years standing, record label owner and exceptional producer. A talented man if ever there was one! He broke the scene in 2001 with a double CD mix called ‘Music is Freedom’, winning the Bedroom Bedlam Award then later moved on to be the man behind the ‘Renaissance Digital 01’ mix for the Renaissance label which became the first ever DJ mix made exclusively for iTunes… and he hasn’t stopped since; DJing across the world from New York to Tel Aviv, presenting his own radio show and guesting on others and producing cross-genre dancefloor killers. The latest of which is his remix of Reuben Keeney’s ‘Saxophone’ out now on SpinOut records.
Hi Paolo,
We know you are very busy at the moment playing shows all over the World, so thanks for taking the time to speak to us.
Q) Are you going to get much time off over the summer?
A) Mmmmm….. difficult to say really. I will have breaks between tours, but constantly in the studio or thinking about something. It does become difficult to break the habit. You have to force yourself to take a break here and there… I do anyway.
Q) Which of your gigs stand out as being the most special and why?
A) As long as you make a connection with people a gig can be special in a warehouse in Tokyo or a backstreet pub in Notting Hill.
Q) How did you get into Dance music?
A) I got bored of my previous career in PR (true)
Q) Who or what has been your biggest influence?
A) Me auld fella.
Q) What’s your drive, your fuel in life?
A) Crack.
Q) What is your favourite record of all time?
A) David Cassidy - The Higher They Climb, The Harder They Fall
Q) What is the most embarrassing CD you own?
A) Balance 009
Q) Important stuff, what is the best thing to spread on toast?
A) Currently Greek yoghurt and orange blossom honey.
Q) If you were invisible for a day, what would you do?
A) Score a goal for Liverpool
Q) Lastly, who would you ideally like to work with in the future?
A) A decent management company
Cheers Paolo.
