Pacemaker Pocket-Sized DJ System
Pacemaker Pocket-Sized DJ System
9 May, 2007 | 10.10AMPerfect for those cross-country plane flights or spur-of-the-moment opportunities to DJ for your friends, the Pacemaker won’t keep your heart on track but just might subdue your craving to mix long enough to make it through that next basket-weaving lecture.
Pacemaker is the world’s first commercial pocket-size DJ system. Playback features include a variety of common audio manipulation tools such as dual-track playback, pitch bend, pitch adjust, cue, loop, crossfade and even built-in effects.
The idea of handheld DJ systems is nothing new, but unlike the widely discussed DJammer concept, Pacemaker’s parent company, Tonium expects to commercially release the product to consumers sometime this fall (though, no word on pricing yet).
Although the product shots appear to be computer-generated renderings and there’s no sign of a functional prototype, we can’t help but root for such a cool DJ gadget to escape the realm of vaporware and eventually land in our back pockets.
