Orbital to headline Sonar 2009 and others

Since British dance music legends Orbital announced back in November that they would be coming out of ‘retirement’ to headline The Big Chill festival, it seems the Hartnoll brothers have discovered a new appetite for live performance. Or they’ve been impressed with the demand (fees).

This summer, Orbital will now take over a number of festivals across Europe including Rockness in Scotland on June 14th, Sonar in Barcelona (June 18th - 20th) and Global Gathering in England (July 24th - 25th), as well as perform at Manchester Academy (September 19th) and London’s Brixton Academy on September 25th.

All in all, this is great news for Orbital’s many fans, who will once again have the chance to relive the glory days.

And who knows? If Orbital are blown away by their fans whilst on the road this year, some new material could beckon.
