Nutdisco (Duckbeats Mixes)
Prztz [dotbleep]
26 September, 2007 | 2.38PMChicago-based label dotbleep is the brainchild of Justin Long.
Following in the proud tradition laid out by Derrick Carter, the label is famous for the output that has had a bumpin house music flavour to its releases.
Although in dotbleep’s case it tends to be fried in acid!
Prztz
is São Paulo-based DJ/producer Eduardo Marote, who is a part of the Jamanta Crew, which is a Brazilian house collective with other members in Rio de Janeiro.
Classifying the style as “jackin’ house”, they are heavily influenced by Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, Ralph Lawson and DJ Heather — and this new release on DotBleep shows why.
‘Nudisco’ has a classic boompty groove of tight snare, shuffling hats, kick fills and a squelchy simple bassline to move the groove.
Dropping into the lite sized organ riff, plinky glass bottle style keys and finally a drawling male vocals that are reminiscent of a drunk D12 member!
Flip to ‘Disco Dub’ for funked up disco beats and laid back live vibe.
Two superb ‘Duckbeats’ mixes from Chris Duckenfield
turn the original into a more straight up house mix – less humour, more dancefloor action.
Head for the ‘Duckbeats Dub’ for maximum jackin’!
