NGDJ sees 3500 mixes, 330,000 votes

A whopping 3500 mixes and 330,000 votes were submitted during the qualifying round of Next Generation DJ (NGDJ), the world’s biggest ever DJ talent search.

The mixes have been whittled down to just 100 finalists, who will now be judged by a team of industry experts and top DJs including Sebastian Ingrosso, DJ Magazine’s Editor in Chief Ben Murphy, Mark Grotefeld, Pioneer DJ’s Head of Marketing, and Beatport’s CEO Jonas Tempel.

“I always keep my ears to the ground for new talent, for both inspiration for my DJing and producing, but also as a label owner.

“There were loads of great mixes and ideas in the first stage of NGDJ, so I’m psyched to see what will happen in the finals,” said Sebastian Ingrosso.

The winner of the NGDJ finals will be revealed on February 23rd 2010 - you can listen to all the finalists’ mixes here.

In addition to DJ spots at the star studded DJ Mag and Beatport pool parties at Miami WMC in late March, the NGDJ winner will receive a set of brand new Pioneer CDJ2000s (and inclusion in the exclusive Pioneer test DJ group), a Pacemaker Portable DJ system, media coverage in DJ Mag, Beatportal, LetsMix.com and other channels, and see their own compilation released on Beatport.
