New remixes of Kahuun ‘Slyngel’
4 October, 2007 | 12.02PM- Section: Music News
Bagpak White Label’s next release features a solid collection of remixes of Kahuun’s scandalous drunken jazz number ‘Slyngel’. All remixes have been getting radio play and great feedback from across the board and on the dancefloor. A must hear.
Representing Puerto Rico’s Amalgama posse, Squadra (aka Chucky Rojas) takes the track into the ruff broken territory, with its jagged beats, dirty bassline and scattered elements from the original, and Flyin’ High Records’ Dutchman, Moto (one-third of Moody Allen) flips the track into a slammin’ electro-tech-disco boogie tune. NYC’s Yellowtail kick’s it up a notch with his BTEK remix, taking the original into deep house territory. And lastly, UK veteran producer, Rhythm Doctor delivers a moody minimal version of the track with its dark upright bassline driving the track into unknown territory.
“Squadra & Yellowtail mix are both heavy dope shit..... will be playin my night for sure.”
- Kay Suzuki (CoOp)
“This is all really really nice, one of my favourite releases from you...Yellowtail, Moto and Rhythm Doctor mixes are all dope, interesting production too”
- Greymatter (Mr. Bongo / Unique Uncut / Basement Soul)
