New Noise Apps for iPhone

New Noise Apps for iPhone

Since the release of the iPhone 2.0 operating system, Amidio Inc. has been hard at work putting the finishing touches on a pair of iPhone apps for EDM producers.

We covered the initial pre-announcement of Noise.io a while back, but it looks like the finished product (iTunes link) is a real gem.

Noise.io’s (pictured above) ESFM synthesis tools are a combination both FM and subtractive synthesis technology, kind of like a simpler version of Ableton’s Operator, with a sci-fi interface.

It also includes a simple 303-style sequencer for whipping up loops whilst killing time at the dentist’s office.

For $9.99 it looks like a great companion to iZotope’s iDrum, despite the fact that the apps can’t communicate and synchronize at this point (hint, hint).

Full details can be found on Amidio’s front page.

Noise Trio

This weekend, Amidio followed Noise.io with a free iPhone app called Noise Trio.

Pictured above, Noise Trio includes three instruments – Asian Flute, Rock Guitar, and Eastern Bells.

Each instrument can be played over its own associated drum loop in a manner not unlike the Korg Kaossilator.

While the user interface sports a look that redefines the word “stereotype,” the experience is kind of fun for a few minutes, which is all anyone really expects from a free app, right?

Either way, Amidio is clearly dedicated to providing iPhone tools for musicians and producers - and for that, we applaud them.
