New mixes of Way Out West ‘The Gift’

Way Out West’s perennial progressive breaks classic ‘The Gift’ is one of the sub genre’s most enchanting moments, so it makes sense that the Bristol pair commissioned Brazil’s master of ethereal dancefloor moments himself, Gui Boratto, for a new remix.

Originally released in 1996 on Way Out West’s self-titled debut album, ‘The Gift’ is one of Way Out West’s most famous tracks. It reached the UK top 15. As well as Boratto’s poignant rework, Deconstruction’s 2010 remix package also features a mix from prog producer Michael Woods, and a curious prog dubstep hybrid from Tek-One (it’ll be interesting if the soundclash develops in the coming months).

Here in this promo video, Nick Warren and Jody Wisternoff discuss how the track kick started their career on Deconstruction, and reveal some more details about their long-awaited forthcoming album.
