New ETUI release by Alex Carbo
21 September, 2007 | 8.46AM- Section: Music News
After two year production break, Alex Carbo gave his debut on ETUI records with ‘Scorpio’.
Tight beats and trancey accents lead to spheric uplifting moments somewhere between romantic techno and freaky minimal tunes.
Sometimes his sound has a touch of melodic rave-like hymn.
So maybe that´s why especially ‘Aeon’ is played during the hole summer in the clubs of Ibiza.
With ‘Aquarius’, he offers a well done sequel of this successful ‘Scorpio’ release.
The title track’s catchy synth motives and mysterious pads are roaring down to the deepness as energetic as a waterfall without a halt.
Held by a propulsive drum frame, the water channels its way down the sanguine river named Cyclone.
Sinus notes are bouncing happily across the waves until a sharp sawtooth heats them up mercilessly.
The b-side is rather slow in developing.
‘Meditation, Minimalism & Drums’ is heading towards a climax in a meditative and minimal way.
But after the break everybody is screaming on the floor - no one goes home!
With this once more Alex Carbo adds a different tone colour to the music so far on ETUI records.
The 29 year old released more than 10 EPs and remixes on labels such as his own named Chrono Tracks as well as on sublabels of Media Records.
His tracks appear on many compilations such as Etui Summer Camp, Nature One or Summer Spirit.
Together with his brother Max Riot he organizes THE FIRE / Fahrenheit100 events in Dresden with famous guest artists from all over the world such as Anthony Rother, Thomas Schumacher or Adam Beyer.
This makes the record to another showcase of the new hot music scene in Dresden.
