New Deadbeat album in October
17 August, 2008 | 8.49PMAfter four albums for Berlin’s ~scape Records, Scott Monteith, aka Deadbeat
, delivers his follow up to last years’ ‘Journeyman Annual’ via Vancouver’s Wagon Repair.
His newest full length is entitled ‘Roots And Wires’ and will be released in October.
His two EPs for Wagon Repair
this year have been highlights for both Wagon Repair and Deadbeat, rooted somewhere between dub-techno, dancehall and dubby electronica.
For ‘Roots And Wires’ Scott Monteih, who recently relocated to Berlin, collaborated with Paul St.Hilaire, better known as Tikiman, whose vocals can be found on various Basic Channel’s related records like Main Street and Rhythm & Sound or on his own label False Tuned and Monolakes Robert Henke.
The eight tracks dive deep into waves of dub, exploring once more the vast terrain of bass and the connections between techno, dubstep and dancehall.
