New bates45: temporary tattoos and ketchup smells
30 March, 2009 | 3.47AMEvery once in a while you hear a record which is fresh, unique and different than the usual stuff out there. Temporary tattoos is such a record from Benjamin Bates
alter ego bates45.
Creative mastermind Benjamin bates dressed up in his alter ego bates45 to deliver a follow–up the huge first release ‘1’containing the little masterpieces ‘Watch You Dance’ and ‘Southside’.
This second release is not surprisingly titled ‘2’ and contains just one track which goes under the name ‘Temporary Tattoos’. The song is built around a spoken poet from Carol Mirakove. Who? Carol Mirakove. If you haven’t heard about her, even Radiohead frontman Tom Yorke has been raving about her poets on his blogs.
Dance Department Dennis Ruyer already showed it’s love for the record by playing it last Saturday in his show and the love is spreading.
The release is set for April 14 and to accompany the release Bates brother Joel did a Beats45 worthy video for it.
