Mike Gillenwater is not only a DJ, but has musical roots that date back to the early 90’s. His roots began as a guitarist and bassist; however, in the mid 90’s Mike gained an appreciation for electronic music and realized that he could make music with the help of his childhood friend, Bryan Jones. Soon after Bryan moved to Chicago he and Mike formed the group High Caliber and still release music to this day.
In 2005 Mike formed another group, The Funk Monkeys, with well known DJs Paul Anthony and Mark Almaria. Their first single, “Get a Move On”, was signed to the prestigious 611 Records and was quite a success. Since then Mike continues to make music with High Caliber, The Funk Monkeys, as well as signing exclusively with the Nine Records group. Be prepared for an exciting and unique blend of Mike’s music.
