Nerina Pallot ‘Peg’ (Cicada remixes)

Nerina Pallot ‘Peg’ (Cicada remixes)

Whilst not the most obvious track you’d associate with Steely Dan, ‘Peg’ will be best known for its use by those leaders of the daisy-age rap march in the late-1980s, De La Soul, featuring in ‘Eye Know’. Now in the hands of producer Richard X ‘Peg’ is transformed into an essential mid-tempo toe-tapper by the Ivor Novello Award nominee Nerina Pallot [a], who gives it a real Edie Brickell ‘What I Am’ quality.

The follow-up to the three Top 10 airplay hits, ‘Everybody’s Gone To War’, ‘Learning To Breathe’ and ‘Sophia’, is even better with Cicada and Edison adding the electro-etched club-edge to the 14th Floor release, but it’s the country-folky Richard X original that will be heard on radio all summer long.
