Native Instruments launch new digital DJ scratch system

Native Instruments have just upped their game with the release of a brand new groundbreaking digital DJ system that will allow users to control digital music files on a computer using traditional turntables and CD decks.

Traktor Scratch is said to provide supreme audio quality and performance, is easy to set-up and operate, and gives DJs the power to go beyond the limitations of traditional DJ kit while maintaining the much-loved hands-on control of vinyl.

“With Traktor Scratch, we have utilized our full expertise in software and hardware design to build a truly performance-oriented DJ system,” said Stephan Schulz, director of NI’s DJ Division.

“Traktor Scratch can be as straightforward or as sophisticated as you want it to be, but most importantly, you can always count on it to perform under all conditions.”

This means the new system shouldn’t breakdown in a dark sweaty club.

It also comes packed with killer effects and features to supercharge any DJ performance.

There are ultra-precise on-the-fly loop functions, key lock and pitch-shifting technology, and analog-modeled filters for both decks as well as two beat-synced performance effect sections that can process both Traktor’s internal decks as well as external input signals.

There’s also automatic iTunes import, full MIDI parameter control and of course direct integration with our lovely download store Beatport (so you can download tunes in the middle of your set!).

The Traktor Scratch system can also be combined with Native Instrument’s intuitive Traktor 3 software which will give greedy DJs access to four full-featured decks, a software mixer with virtual EQ and filters, plus loads of other creative tools.

Traktor Scratch is due out in April / May 2007, and is expected to retail for around $669 US / €599 / £399.
