Leading breaks label Funkatech have been one of the surprise hits over the past couple of years.

Recently they spawned the release Play It Loud by Far Too Loud which was a huge international success, as it crossed the boundaries of heavy techno and breaks.

Yet even with its massive international success, the act and label were ignored at this year’s Breakspoll.

This year Funkatech have kicked things off in a big way with Napt who have received massive success on Funkatech’s sister label, Sub Frequency Funk.

The new release, ’Gotta Have More Cowbell‘, is a harder-edged breaks release, and pushes the standard boundaries of conventional breakbeat structures by incorporating lines from the infamous “Gotta Have More Cowbell” sketch on Saturday Night Live featuring Christopher Walken and Will Farrell.

Big things are expected for this release, and it’s highly tipped to be one of the biggest break releases of the year.

There is already a video for the release, and it has received a mass amount of radio play.

Napt have also been involved with big remix projects from the likes of Ils, through to Finger Lickin’s Slyde.
