MYNC mix ‘Space Ibiza’ for Cr2

With the summer months approaching and that Icelandic volcano mercifully allowing air travel again, all eyes are on Ibiza. And all manner of clubs, parties, labels, and DJs are angling to make their events stand out from the island’s crowded lineup.

Cr2 jump into the fray with ‘Live & Direct: Space Ibiza’, the official 2010 compilation for the famed club. MYNC are on mixing duties, and they’ve divided their set into two discs. “La Terraza” features comparatively housey fare from the likes of Dyen Soundroom, Shonky, Affkt & Coyu, and DJ Madskillz & 2000 And One, as well as Nic Fanciulli’s emotive remix of Lusine’s ‘Two Dots’. “La Discoteca” ventures indoors for heavier tunes from Solomun, Popof, Oleg Poliakov, Technasia, Robert Hood, and more.

Space Ibiza opened last weekend with an opening fiesta of epic proportions, and the summer schedule is looking equally massive, including residencies from Carl Cox, the no-holds-barred “We Love” parties, and even one-offs like Berghain’s one-night takeover. Now, this Sunday, June 6, Cr2 celebrate the album’s launch at Space with an all-stars bill. The Discoteca hosts M.A.N.D.Y. live and DJ sets from Nic Fanciulli, Olivier Giacomotto, Siopsis, Thomas Schumacher, and Uto Karem and Hugo; MYNC take over the Terraza, along with Rhythm Masters, Uner, Coyu & Edu Imbernon, and residents Elio Riso & Remo. The Sunset Terrace, meanwhile, will be aglow with the sounds of Damian Wilson, Jewel Kid and new Cr2 signing Dan Castro.
