My WMC Track: Droog
My WMC Track: Droog
25 March, 2009 | 3.29PMA few moments ago I bumped into the Droog trio from Los Angeles on South Beach, who seemed pretty excited about their set tonight at the Leftroom & Wolf+Lamb ‘Everything In Between’ party at Electric Pickle.
They each kindly agreed to share their biggest WMC bomb with the Beatportal community, the tracks that they are hoping will rinse out Miami the most this week.
Here are Droog’s big three WMC tracks.
Motor City Drum Ensemble ‘Frontin’ (Droog’s Brett Griffin)
This is a terrific old school type number which builds into a nice and unexpected vocal sample. Definite Detroit feel to this one.
A perfect transition from early to middle of the night as it lets the crowd know the party is picking up.
Dyed Soundorom ‘I Care’ (Andrei Osyka)
This is a hypnotic groove that rides a wicked bassline that’s both subtle and pulsating. This fresh one from the Parisian shows him in top form. Proper electronic deep house!
Silver City ‘Dubby’ (Justin Sloe)
A jazzy number that is perfect for Miami, works just as well outdoors in the sun or the dampness of a dark warehouse.
It has rarely left my box since it was released in 2005.
