Mums of Death: Golden Axe

It was only a matter of time that the inevitable happened. That’s not to say that we here at Beatport HQ knew in advance, but to say that we weren’t surprised would be an understatement.

Yes, the mighty, voodoo-cursed Drums of Death has joined forces with his Southern counterpart, the grimy, bassline-driven Mumdance. Together they form, yeah, you guessed it, Mums of Death!

Their debut collaboration, the “Golden Axe” EP, is a fusion of their two characteristic styles: a mixture of bassline, 8-bit, and rave cuts. It’s only appropriate that the accompanying video is an old 8-bit role-playing game about an ecstasy-fuelled Viking (no, not this one) trying to navigate his way around a nightclub.
