Movement 2008 club review: Minus Contakt afterparty
25 May, 2008 | 12.12PMLast night outside St. Andrews Hall in Detroit there was practically a riot, as ticket holders, guestlisted industry heads and techno fans scrambled to get inside the Minus![[a]](http://www.beatportal.com/images/site/misc/wiki_box_a.gif)
Contakt afterparty for Movement 2008.
With a capacity of around 1000, and with the Minus crew touting their mysterious Cube concept, the demand for tickets was catastrophic.

Paco Osuna delivered an excellent set of minimal techno
The wait outside was totally worth it though, as Richie Hawtin and Magda played some of the sickest techno on the floor, whilst Paco Osuna downstairs ripped it up with throbbing minimal beats.
Above the main dancefloor was a enormous LED curtain that reacted to the techno beats with surprising attentiveness - the synergy between light and sound was superb, no doubt all part of The Cube and Contakt’s plan.
The amazing thing about Minus’ night is that we didn’t hear a single track that we recognized.

The transitions between tracks was flawless and the music blended into one exciting, kicking techno loop.
The crowd danced all night without complaint, and after a few too many Tequila shots we legged it for fear of the inevitable hangover.
