More mesmerizing minimal action from Cloud
15 March, 2008 | 9.56AM- Section: Music News
Following the well-received Diamondtrack single, Swedish wunderkind Cloud aka Alex Berg is back.
At only 20, Cloud (aka Alex Berg) is fast establishing himself as a household name on the electronic music scene.
As one of Gothenberg’s hottest talents, his debut album ‘Adventure’ spawned four massive singles (‘Hold On’, ‘Those Days’, ‘What You Want’ and ‘Turning’).
Cloud’s sensibility for melody combined with his pristine production techniques and his diverse sound are not only demonstrated on his own tracks but also on his recent remixes for Tennishero ‘Midnight Love’, Dalminjo’s cover of The Smiths classic ‘There is a light that never goes out’, Plej’s ‘Evum’ and Oblong’s ‘Playing on my mind’ - each track carrying significantly different qualities from one another.
Without sounding contrived, Cloud’s sound effortlessly drifts from lush deep house to minimal electro and future jazz.
Here’s what a couple of people who know about these things said about heroic Cloud
“Wonderful” Ben Watt
“Excellent” Tom Middleton
“Electronic House of the highest calibre, lovely” Jimpster
Brand new EP ‘Hökarängen Space Program’ continues Cloud’s new direction from his previous releases.
Both new tracks are straight-to-the floor minimal electro with Cloud’s trademark hooks and melodies breaking through the track’s dark-tinged vibe.
The EP is out now exclusively on digital download via Beatport.
